Transferring or selling the ownership of a trade mark
If you transfer or sell the ownership of your trade mark or the ownership
changes following company mergers, then you must tell us using the form TM16
(33Kb)
so that we can record it on the register of trade marks. Assignment is the legal term for transferring
ownership and the form TM16 is the form we use to record this. It does not replace a formal assignment
document.
There is a GBP £50 fee per form.
The form must be signed by you or the new proprietors. If this is not possible, then documentary evidence of the transfer of ownership must be provided.
